ARC 201: DESIGN III

The study explored how the human body’s proportions inspire architectural design, emphasizing that spaces must balance function, beauty, and comfort. By gathering detailed anthropometric data and analyzing essential activities, we established benchmarks to create user-centric environments. Our team rendered scaled, shaded drawings to visually represent ideal activity zones, ensuring ergonomic harmony. Applying these insights, I designed a kitchen with distinct wet and dry areas, seamless transitions, and optimal appliance placement for safety and convenience. Extending this approach, I developed a dancer’s atelier on a riverside site, featuring open courtyards, double-height living spaces, and concealed entries for privacy. This project proves that thoughtful ergonomics and spatial flow dramatically enhance both utility and delight in residential design.
